A Year of Convers(AI)tions
From LinkedIn chats to a full season of panels. Plus: We have a YouTube channel!
Hello everyone and welcome to our first Convers(AI)tions newsletter!
Thank you so much for supporting us and allowing us into your inbox.
Today, we would like to share with you a little bit of our journey and how Convers(AI)tions came about, as well as what lies ahead.
A little housekeeping before we dive in: we now have a YouTube channel! So, if you missed any of our 12 panels we did this year, this is your chance to catch up.
How It All Began
It all started with a conversation on LinkedIn. We (Emily and Giulia) found ourselves deep in discussion about the difference between prompt design vs. prompt engineering. A variety of people shared their input and a thought struck:
Why not get some experts, who might have different perspectives on this topic, and bring this dialogue to a wider audience?
That spark led to our first live panel, where we invited none other than Maaike Groenewege, Shyamala Prayaga and Roger Kibbe, to share their insights on the topic.
We learned so much in that panel and the response was truly incredible.
The energy and enthusiasm we witnessed inspired us to keep going. One panel became two, then three, and before we knew it, we hosted 12 events over the past year.
A Year of Diverse Voices and Insights
Throughout this journey, we've explored a wide range of topics in the conversational AI field including bot personas, error handling, linguistics, user research, behavioral science, and more.
We've been fortunate to host 42 experts representing 14 countries and many different backgrounds, fostering educational and thought-provoking discussions.
True to our mission, we've focused on demystifying conversational AI technologies, sharing practical tips, and highlighting diverse voices in the field.
Summer Plans: A Brief Pause, But…
As summer approaches, we've decided to take a short break from our regular panel schedule.
But don't worry - we're not going anywhere! We'll continue to share valuable content through this newsletter, including highlights from past panels and curated resources.
When fall arrives, we'll be back with a fresh lineup of live Convers(AI)tions designed to keep you at the forefront of conversational AI developments.
Remember, if you have ideas for future panels or want to be featured as a panelist, feel free to reach out and message Emily or Giulia on LinkedIn.
Let's continue to create, innovate, and inspire together!
